Dublin will face Meath in their opening match of the 2009 All-Ireland Championship after they were drawn together in the quarter-finals of the Leinster Championship.

The two sides, who are both currently without a manager, were last out of the pot in their draw at Croke Park and as such are the only Leinster quarter-finalists certain of their opponents at this stage.

Elsewhere, All-Ireland champions Tyrone will take on Ulster Championship winners Armagh in another major heavyweight clash after they were paired together in the quarter-finals of the Ulster Championship.

Down must again play a preliminary round if they wish to progress to the quarter-finals after being drawn with Fermanagh.

The Munster draw ensured that there will be no Cork v Kerry final after they we both placed on the same side of the draw. Kerry were given a bye into the semi-final and will face the winner of the Waterford v Cork quarter-final clash.

The other semi-final will see Clare take on the winners of the Tipperary v Limerick encounter.

In hurling, Galway's first game in the Leinster Championship will be against Laois. Antrim will take on Dublin in what should prove to be an entertaining encounter, while Kilkenny were awarded a bye to the semi-final.

The Munster draw threw up some interesting ties with Cork and Tipperary set to go head to head for the right to play Clare at the semi-final stage. Elsewhere, new Limerick manager Justin McCarthy will face his former side Waterford in the other semi-final.

McCarthy was forced out of Waterford after the players expressed dissatisfaction with his management and will be eager to prove a point against his former charges.
