Q. I am a new eircom net customer. What do I need in order to
sign up for a flat rate package?
A. If you are a new eircom net customer you need:
The telephone number you wish to put the Flat Rate account on and
The telephone account number on which that phone number appears.

Note: If you are billed for line rental or calls by eircom
then you need your eircom telephone bill account number.
Q. I am an existing eircom net customer. What do I need in order
to sign up for a flat rate package?
A. If you are an existing eircom net customer all you will need
is as follows:
Your eircom net email address
Your eircom net password The telephone number you wish to
put the Flat Rate account on and the telephone account number on which that
phone number appears.*
* Note: If you are billed for line rental or calls by eircom then
you need your eircom telephone bill account number.
Q. What if I want additional services as well as a flat rate
package?
A. If you have or require any other services in addition to a Flat
Rate account you need to contact our sales team on 1800 503 303
Q. Can I keep my existing eircom net email address?
A. If you are an existing eircom net customer you can keep your
email address.
Q. Do I require any special software or equipment to use the
eircom net flat rate packages?
A. No special equipment or software is needed for flat rate.
Q. How do I contact customer support?
A. For technical support you can phone us on *. Our
Support hours are 8am to 10pm Monday to Sunday. Or you can use our

contact your telephone provider *Calls to this number are charged
at c per minute (incl. VAT)
Q. How long does it take to sign-up?
A. It takes a couple of minutes to sign-up. Once you have completed the
sign-up process and downloaded the settings, you will be able to dial into
eircom net after 30 minutes.
Q Do I get web space and email addresses my eircom net flat rate
package?
A. Yes You will get 50Mb of web space and unlimited eircom net POP
email addresses for all the family. i.e. yourname@eircom.net
Q. Is there a minimum contract period?
A. There is a no minimum contract period.
Q. Can I stay connected all the time?
A. eircom net flat rate packages are not designed to support continuous
or unattended Internet access. If you require an always-on solution,
try eircom
broadband. Specific limitations are as follows:
1 - each flat rate account can only be accessed from one specific
phone line. You specify this number at sign-up.
2 - Your connection will automatically be disconnected after 20 minutes
idle time.*
We also reserve the right to
1 - Limit online usage to 12 hours in any 24 period
2 - Limit online session to 2 hours. After which you can reconnect
immediately.
*Idle time is defined as time on line when no data has been transmitted
by the Customer to the Service or has been received by the Customer
using the Service.
Q. What happens if I exceed my allocated time?
A. If you exceed your allocated time you will be charged eircom net Free
Internet call charges for any excess. eircom net Free call
charges.

Q If I buy an off-peak package can I still user the Internet
during the daytime?
A. Yes. You will be charged eircom net free Internet call charges
for calls made during the daytime. (Call charges detailed above)
Also, you don't need to change your settings.
Q. When is peak time and off peak time?
A. Peak time is 8am-6pm Monday to Friday Off peak time is 6pm to
8am Monday to Friday and all weekend.
Q. Can I use eircom net flat rate with ISDN?
A. Yes. The service will allow a single channel (64k) ISDN or dual
channel (128k) ISDN. Dual channel ISDN is regarded as two "phone
lines" and as a result your time on the Internet is treated as two
calls. If you dial up using dual channel ISDN your allocated time
is used twice as fast.
Q. What number do I use for ISDN access?
A. There is no specific number for ISDN customers. The number you
use to access the Internet will simply depend on which of the three
Flat Rate products you choose.
Q. Can I use my flat rate username and password to login from
another location?
A. No. If you are on a flat rate package you can only access your
account from the phone number that you have registered. If you require
a service that allows you to access the Internet from different
locations throughout the country, then an eircom net Free
or Subscription account may better suit your needs.
Q. Can I pass the eircom net registration CD on to someone else
so that they can register for the service?
A. Yes. Other people may use your CD to register for eircom net
flat rate packages.
Q. How will I be billed?
A. eircom net flat rates are billed on your telephone bill. You
pay for the service in the manner and at the time you pay for the
other services on that bill. This means you can pay using any of
the payment methods offered by your telephone company.
Q - I am a Carrier Pre Selection Customer, can I get the service?
A - Yes you can. However in accordance with current regulation you
will be billed for your flat rate package on the same bill as you
are currently billed for line rental.
Q. I am moving house. Can I keep my flat rate account?
A. As you are moving house you will get a new eircom telephone account.
All the services on your old account will be cancelled. Once you
are set-up in your new home you will need to reapply to eircom net
for a new flat rate account
Q. Can I change between the flat rate packages if the one I choose
doesn't suit?
A. Yes. You can contact our sales department on 1800 503 303 or
through the auto- registration site on eircom.net
Q. Is this a broadband service?
A. No. eircom net flat rate is a dial-up service and uses a standard
modem/ISDN connection. Broadband uses a different access technology,
which allows for an always-on connection at super-fast speeds to

Q. How do I cancel my eircom net flat rate account?
A. If you wish to cancel your account please call us on 1890 603
803. All customers will be required to confirm cancellations in
writing.
Q. I cannot get broadband, can I get eircom net flat rate?
A. Flat rate is available all over the Republic of Ireland. Also
eircom net flat rate accounts work with 128K ISDN. |
